Messages from Slingshot
To my Fans, Friends, and
Well-Wishers - Tuesday, October 29, 2007
It has been quite some time now since my website has been
updated to reflect what has been happening in my entertaining life. I
apologize for the lapse in maintenance.
I was on the “Guiana 1838” tour from October 22, 2006 and when
I returned, I had to leave in February for Mash 2007 in Guyana.
Most of you are aware, thanks to the Internet and newsprint that while
there in Guyana, I was in an unfortunate accident on February 23, 2007.
I am still recovering from the serious injuries I sustained.
The life-blood of any entertainer is the warmth and love
extended by fans world-wide. I wish to take this opportunity to thank
you all for your “get-well” messages of hope, love, and encouragement.
To those whose emails got bounced because of my computer
malfunctioning, I sincerely apologize. My website’s “guestbook” updates
presently reflect only those I received. Please re-send if you do
not see your entry.
While I was lying helpless in Guyana, the actions of some
individuals went beyond the boundaries of friendship and reaching out.
Such actions reflect the indisputable strength and timbre of character.
Do know I am now drawn even closer to you all, and will be forever
indebted.
The accident also gave me moments to pause, reflect, and
examine roads and directions my profession was taking me. Along
with the healing process, however long that may be, comes the reality
that I would not be able to strenuously indulge with entertaining as the
public would come to expect of me. Numerous fan-mails, as well as phone
calls, have urged me to slow down and take it easy.
I am now seriously contemplating such wisdom.
Maybe now is the right time to get my manuscript together and
have it properly edited and published. Do know I have been in
close contact and discussion with a publishing house from Lincoln,
Nebraska. I will still continue to compose and record. Also,
I plan on editing properly and professionally my various musical videos.
Such is long over-due!
I would hope your interest never wanes and I can depend on your
fan-love, support, and interest in my future works. I may have
fallen off the dray-cart during Mash 2007, but I’m not down for the
count.
By the way, join me on the road in Guyana on February 23, 2008,
for the Mashramani celebrations. My theme will be “Mash Fever”…!
My forever thanks!
[The following was a “Letter of Gratitude” to the people of
Guyana I dictated to my daughter, Cherisse, to be sent to Guyana’s
Stabroeknews, Kaieteur News, and
Chronicle newspapers on Friday, March
23, 2007, when I had arrived safely back to the US and was X-rayed and
given a thorough examination by an orthopaedic doctor. The letter
appeared in the various newspapers on different dates.
PLEASE NOTE that I was corrected by an unknown letter writer to
the said newspapers for my use of the word “Radiologist”.
So to the writer, should you be reading this, do know I was
just trying really hard to recall what transpired, during my painful
visit to Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital that evening of February 23.
I apologize for the incorrect use of Ms Godiva’s occupation.
Do know that when one is in pain and can barely stand up, as I
was given the nature of the injury, one does not give a sheep’s pellet
who renders X-rays, injections, or what-have-you, or try to determine
the qualification of the medical personal.]
Dear Editor,
Permit me space in your letter column to express my deep and sincere
gratitude to Guyana, my fans and well-wishers both at home and in the
Diaspora, and specifically some very special individuals, for the love
and support they have demonstrated during my moments of helplessness,
hospitalization, and recuperation.
It has now been a month since I was badly injured, owing to that
unfortunate freak accident I sustained, during the Mash celebrations
Friday, February 23, 2007. I am now back in Florida reflecting on the
extent of the damage to my lower back, and contemplating what the future
holds for me.
Editor, many times in Guyana we would read about and see on display just
about everything bad and negative and which seems to vicariously engage
the interest of most people, and the media. And given such, many times I
would be brow-beaten by friends and associates when I proudly scream
aloud the redeeming qualities of our Guyana and her people. What they
all fail to see, or sometimes acknowledge, is the innate goodness of our
people especially when assistance is needed to those who are physically,
mentally, psychologically challenged, and literally flat on their backs.
I am presently humbled as I have personally experienced that "goodness"
as was reflected in the 'above and beyond' actions of Rohit Jagessar &
Guiana 1838 who made sure my kids in Florida were taken care of while I
was bed-ridden in Guyana, and Pradeep Lall for the '24/7 hawk-eyed
attention' one brother gives to another when one is down.
Words cannot properly express my profound gratitude to Mr. Bert Plas,
Mr. Courtney Hinds and the Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel staff, for the
personal care taken to insure both my privacy and comfort, the recently
concluded Rio Summit notwithstanding. I will always remember the daily
visits from Mr. Plas and the hours of bedside chats and encouragement in
which he engaged Ingrid and me. And how can I ever forget the hotel
staff's swift and ready assistance rendered to me? So, regardless of
anything negative said and/or printed by anyone anywhere, to the
management and staff of the Le Meridien Pegasus, in my book you are
Guyana's first and only "Million-Star Plus" establishment!
Among the many, many individuals who rose to the occasion with their
"above and beyond" efforts on my behalf, I wish to acknowledge the
following persons with sincere appreciation and gratitude: Donna
Stanford (Alberttown), Harold 'Topgun' Hopkinson (South Riumveldt),
Andre Razah (Lazer Academy, Better Hope, ECD), Sister Mary Peter and the
girls from St. Ann's Orphanage, Wayne Moses' Guyana Outpost (Houston,
Texas), Joshua Safeek and Sandra Latchman of Fidelity Investment (WBD),
Alvin and Violent Omram (Durey Lane, Campbellsville), Vic Insanally and
GuyEnterprise (Georgetown), CEO General Singh and GT&T (Georgetown), for
their extraordinary "assistance" and personalized attention extended to
me.
I am indeed indebted to Terry (security at Le Meridien Pegasus) and Laurex Johnson (Federal Management System) for the humane and heroic
efforts they rendered me after my fall on Mash day; Bert Plas, General
Manager of Le Meridien Pegasus, for personally rushing me in his vehicle
to Dr. Balwant Singh's Hospital; Orthopedic specialist Dr. Suhel Kotwal
and Radiologist Godiva of Dr. Balwant Singh's Hospital for the immediate
and attendant service during my painful visit; Neurologist Dr. Walter
Ramsahoye for patient care and medical relief; Dr. Joey Jagan for his
friendship and timely visits; Uncle Paul O'Hara for his most welcomed
'morning and evening' phone calls and words of encouragement. (From him
I learnt there are 69,000 hair on the human head.); Allan Fenty and
Godfrey Chin for their bedside humour and chats; Nazim Hussein, Doretta
Welcome and Carl Cottam for their friendship, physical support and
efforts on my behalf; physiologist Paula Alexander for her professional
and therapeutic advice, florists Jean Pollard and Clarissa Babb from the
"World of Flowers" in Queenstown, and the
Guyana Police Force Traffic
Division for assisting in getting me quickly through the Mash crowd and
on to the hospital.
And to "Region 11" the Diaspora members of Wayne's Guyana Mailing List,
Tamarind Tree Yahoo Group, GoldengroveNabaclis Yahoo Group,
Skeldon
Yahoo Group, and my fans all over, I thank you for your prayers,
supportive efforts on my behalf, get-well cards, and the numerous emails
sent.
It is indeed a most humbling moment for an entertainer when he is
accorded a 'tribute' by and from his peers. This was reflected on
Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Le Meridien Pegasus, when Bonny Alves and
Charmaine Blackman brought together a host of the "who's who" in
Guyana's entertainment world, for a 'tribute' concert in my honor. I am
hoping as soon as I am whole again to personally thank Michelle 'Big
Red' King, Malo, G Money, Gialiani, Typheon, D'Ivan, Fojo and the
Platinum Crew, Ras Isan, Delma Lynch, Lil Man, Adrian Dutchin, First
Born, Lois Moseley, MCs Basil Bradshaw and Malcolm Ferreira, DJ Madonna,
and Henry Rodney and Linden "Jumbie" Jones, for their running
commentaries and talented contribution.
I was informed the event was an unforgettable and treasured moment.
Last but not least, how can I ever forget the detailed attention and
care rendered to me by my soul mate and co-lyricist, Ingrid, during my
most weakest of moments? And to my daughter, Cherisse, do know you have
done both your Mom and me very proud by holding the family unit
together, during our unfortunate prolonged absence, and not missing a
single day from college. By your unselfish actions and sacrifice I see
'me' in 'you', when I was forced to wear a man's shoes never knowing the
comforts of a teenage 'yawtin boots'.
To you both, and in the words of the Bard, I say "thanks, thanks, and
ever thanks".
Finally, to each and everyone who contributed with finance and materiel
to the success of my "Welcome to Guyana" Float, Costume,
Animal-Drawn Cart, and Road March Parade, my forever thanks. I eagerly
look forward to my "Mash Fever" entry in the 2008
Mashramani celebrations: stronger and better than ever before!
Most sincerely,

Subject: 'The Best Is Yet To Be'
Dear Editor
Mash 2006 has come and gone. There were winners and losers. Such is
expected in any given race for the gold ring. The relaxed and festive
atmosphere seen on Merriman’s Mall, and the receptively massive and
stirring crowds that turned out to greet the various bands and floats,
were but a breath of fresh air I must add given the anti-social turmoil
that seems to grip our dear country almost daily.
I read many times in your columns where writers expound on Guyana’s
lofty constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, or lack thereof: assembly,
association, and expression of thoughts among the most treasured. The
sad experience I have had during the days that preceded Mash Day leaves
me presently pushed to reflect how an entertainer, such as I am, can be
so singled out in a "carrot and whip" scenario.
So allow me through your column to share a thought or two with pointed
thanks to some who went beyond call and duty.
Yes, it is no secret that the odds were against my “Pirates”
given the debacle that ensued around me from Monday February 13th up
through Mash Day itself. The Pirate ship got its final touches of paint
around the port holes at 1:10pm, and we arrived at Camp & Church at
about 2:15pm. Regrettably almost half our supporters had already left
with other bands given their early morning arrival and long wait. Those
revelers and fans, who patiently awaited our arrival at Camp & Church
Streets, have earned my forever gratitude and respect and are to be
commended for their determined loyalty and support.
It should be noted that we were the last Float and Costumed Band to
tramp down the road and enter the National Park. In fact, many had
already written us off thinking we were going to be a “no-show”. But,
as the Fates would have it, we managed to get our act on the road at the
last minute, and made it to the final judging. The vociferous greetings
we received along the way, and especially as we entered the National
Park, still leave a huge lump in my throat even as I presently type. And
from the clichéd bottom of my heart I thank each and every one who lined
the roads and greeted our attempts with robust cheers and
encouragements.
To those who answered my fan club’s call to rally around our
“Pirates” I am forever grateful for your loyalty, donations, and
support. There were so many contributors to the success of our
“Pirates” Mash 2006 attempts, when the chips were down, that I am at a
standstill as to where to start, and who should I single out.
However, how can I ever forget the folks from Queen Street in Tiger
Bay? How about those in Charlestown, and especially that student from
Charlestown Secondary who gave her $202 lunch money, or that Christ
Church Secondary female who gave $20 towards our cause? And the students
from Laser Academy in Better Hope who collectively sacrificed their
lunch money just to ensure that “Pirates” would not fail? And
how can I ever forget that taxi driver, whose ten-year-old daughter
Saraiyah gave him “her puzzling tin money”, as he so touchingly put it
to me, so that our Pirate ship can sail on Mash day?
Special thanks to Donna Stanford Dearlove, Carl Cottam, "Topgun"
Hopkinson (Guyana), Kenny Knox (California), John Mair, Mark Dalgety
(UK), Carl Engaard (Sweden), Monique Freeman (France), Moi Ngere
(Nigeria), and to all the newsprint and TV media in Guyana, Canada, USA,
UK, Europe, West Indies, who highlighted our plight to the public, I am
very grateful for both your courage and bold stand.
Those in Guyana who asked to remain anonymous, businessmen and women,
politicians, journalists, Cambio dealers, market vendors, private
individuals, etc, who came forward and assisted with donations,
material, words of encouragement and support, I will forever respect
and admire your kindness and sense of fair-play. I sincerely pray that
there will come a day when our citizens can shout from the highest of
the Pakaraima peaks and proclaim their God-given constitutional rights
to freedom of expression and association without the slightest fear of
retribution from anyone … anywhere…!
Yes! Even though our backs were literally against the wall, my team and
I rose to the occasion and proceeded with the business at hand: our
Pirate Ship must sail…! Negative forces were unleashed against us, and
from unexpected quarters. I am hoping that those who threw obstacles in
our way can now reflect and see how hasty and unwise decisions can
return to haunt in quarters where least expected.
My close-knit team and I have proven to ourselves, and to Guyana, that
even when beaten down one can rise above petty indifferences and
obstacles (great as they may be) and still be successful. Our First
Place in the Big Band costumed category and Second Place for our Pirate
Float have proven such.
But I am the wiser for all of the above, as “the best is yet to be…”…!
Yours faithfully,
Slingshot

I wish all my fans, supporters, and volunteers, a most "Happy New Year"!
And may 2006 be fruitful and harmonious as we shed acrimony and
disharmony and adorn our minds with apparels of charity and love...!
Looking forward to Mash 2006 with our theme "Pirates"...! If you
decided to be on the road on Feb 23 ... then consider joining our Road
March band "Pirates" and let us together make a statement on the piracy
of our intellectual property ...

Sister Gladys Accra of Joshua House, and Sister Mary Peter of St.
Ann’s Orphanages – “History” was made in Guyana as for the first
time orphans from two Orphanages came together for a rare concert.
From Joshua House Selwyn Campbell, Delroy Easton (senior boys)
and Bidawattie Samwaru, Joy Dublin (senior girls) were exemplary as they
held the younger ones together. A symbolic and touching display was
rendered by Joshua House’s Arthur Smith and Dexter Alexander as they
sang “Lean on Me” to the girls of St. Ann’s.
Then the St. Ann’s senior girls: Natalie, Zoya, Jenella,
Francine, Ashti, Tina, Sherry, Melinda, Martina, Tiffany, Sheneeza, Sue
Martin, Petal, Felicia Williams and Yolanda returned the courtesy with a
well-choreographed interpretation of “O Holy Night”.

It gives me pleasure reflecting on my recent UK tour, and my Paris
R&R …
To Isaac & Funmi Namabiri – My forever thanks for your
hospitality and friendship! Thanks to your event, I was able to meet so
many of your fellow Nigerians. Most importantly, Ingrid, Annabelle, and
I are humbly touched with your love and acceptance into your family
fold.
To Charlene, Lavinia, and Danielle of “Soul Symphony” – It was a
pleasure meeting such wonderfully talented young ladies…! Charlene, I
admired your performance and showmanship, even though I was backstage. I
must say you interact very well with your audience. You use your voice
very tantalizingly to keep your listener close to you. I'm sure that,
like me, your audience really enjoyed your version of that classic
"Fever". It is amazing how your voice spoke volumes for your soul,
especially with the control, tease and ease you so maturely delivered.
Have you ladies considered doing a CD album...? If so, how can I be of
assistance?
Take care ... and my love and respects to you and your family.
To DJ Mike Apoh & Crew – Thank you for your expert mixing while I
was performing with tracks. Without your professionalism, I would have
fallen flat. Thank you, my friends…!
To MC Wale Adenaike and Kemi Ahmed – Your wonderful introduction
of me still rings positive volumes as I presently recall the warm and
loud applause that greeted my stage presence. Hope to meet you guys
again…!
To Joyclyn Bowman-Turner – Thank you very much for your dear
friendship and loyalty … and for being my # 1 Fan there in UK… Your
works with children will never go unnoticed. I am very honored and
blessed to have you in my corner, and being the anchor for my music and
message. All the love and respect to you…!!
To Joyce Stephenson – Thank you for all the many hours you’ve put
into making my stay there in UK comfortable and worry-free…! I wish we
had more leisure time to bring musical and cultural ideas on the table …
to be discussed in detail. Hope to see in November. And, on behalf of
Ingrid and Annabelle, thank you so much for the Chinatown tour. The late
dinner there was fantastic…!
To Mohsen my London guide and driver – You have proved that
humility and sincerity are characteristics that cannot be bought. Thank
you for your commentaries and trust. I appreciate very much your “gift”
at Heathrow. It was unexpected. You have now made our “dear friends”
list. See you in November: if not sooner…!
To Rajan & Geeta of Rivas Enterprises on Eagling Road, Wembley –
I am never one to subscribe to the saying “The clothes make the man!”
However, I was never more proud to wear an outfit on stage, than the one
with which you designed and fashioned…! Geeta & Rajan, your designing
expertise proved to be just what the doctor ordered for ol’ Slingshot…!
The proof is in the many photos that speak volumes…! I am eagerly
awaiting the FedEx delivery of the outfit you are designing for my Miss
Guyana/World performance in September. I hope to make you proud with
your work of art draped around my shoulders.
To Dr. Anita Downey, Clare Scott, Charlotte Worral, Aran Fleicher, &
Adam Mooloney – Just to let you know that we haven’t forgotten your
company, thoughtfulness, good humor, and new-found friendship on the
Euro-Star to Paris. We hope sincerely that you all had a wonderful Paris
respite. We’ll be sending off some photos once we’re settled in. Let’s
stay in touch…!!!
To the wonderfully supportive staff of Le Grand Hotel, 2 rue Scribe,
75002 Paris – Thank you for the comfortable stay at your unique and
historic hotel. My family and I were awed with the 18th century ambience
and décor. We appreciate very much the “welcome” champagne and privacy
you so graciously gave us. The kitchen and room service staff’s
attention to detail exceeded our expectation, and your front desk and
concierge staff were so very helpful. To Ewane and Jalila from
the Business Center, thank you so very much for assisting me with my
digital camera needs.
Sunday July 10, 2005
To George Maharaj & the Canadian “Trini Posse”:
Thank you for affording me a “peek” into what Trinidad & Tobago is
world-famous for: Carnival…! The experience of tramping behind Steel
Bandits steelband along Brimley Road all the way to Lawrence has been
both exhilarating and memorable. Looking forward to the invitation next
year …!
To members of the Skeldon Reunion Picnic – Canada
To the Skeldon Yahoo Group my appreciation for your hospitality
and support during your

Pestano, Ian Tennessee, Ricky Narasa, Shivan, Gaindah, Kamal, Julie,
Carl, Frank S. Lal, Sheer Ramjohn, Brijbassie, and the rest of the
Skeldon gang … I just want you to know how appreciative I am for the
warmth and hospitable atmosphere that surrounded each and every one of
you. I will be better prepared for next year’s reunion when I will
muster enough members to take on the Kitchen Kombo.
It was indeed a pleasure joining you for a fun-filled weekend of
nostalgia and “home-cooked” food and music. The impromptu musical
get-together at Chan Farouk’s home was both memorable and enjoyable!
Thanks for the memories, Kamal, Terry, Shakier, Ed, Chan, Zaleema,
Elizabeth, Nalini, etc!
At the Saturday picnic, it was such a joy running into some folks I
haven’t seen in donkey years! Azeez, Sonita, Denny, John Rambali, Tully,
Gainda, etc, etc! Wow!
And for the “cyber” friends, I’m so happy that I can now put faces to
names!!!
Julie Mango, Rick, Carl & Pat, Frank Lall, and the many others – love
you to death…!!
Again, thank you so very much for your friendship and love.
See you next year!

Trade Show, to the Canadian West Indians: especially Guyanese from
every walk of life… there at the L’Amoreaux Community Center in

I enjoyed performing both days to the SRO crowd. My appreciation to the
kind remarks made by Minister of Agriculture “Sash” Shaw for remembering
our “boyhood” days …
Special warmth extended to (retired GDF) Colonel Martindale and his
lovely wife.
Can you imagine meeting Patsy King (No. 64 Village), and Clive Rayman

To each and every one of you, who sent me mails, etc, expressing deep
concern and wishes for a speedy recovery from the nasty fall I received
during my May 1, 2005, Concert for Guyana held in Tampa, Florida, I say
“Thank You…!”
I am happy to tell you my ankle is mending slowly and that I am able to
walk on it without assistance.
I expressly wish to thank the Guyana MASH Secretariat for their
sincere understanding during my “no-show” for the May 26 Independence
Anniversary Parade. It would have been physically impossible for me to

My forever thanks…!

To Sister Mary Peter & Sister Beatrice of St. Ann’s Orphanage

Staff:
I want to take this opportunity to thank you, and the boys and girls,
for making the “Concert for the Orphans” on Saturday, May 21, 2005, a
very successful event.
It was indeed a very rare pleasure for me to return to my “children” and
lift their spirits. The girls and boys were simply wonderful in their
enthusiasm for our gesture. I would hope what I did will last a lifetime
of memory.
Thank you so very much, Sister Mary Peter for the very thoughtful
letter sent to the press highlighting my visit to the orphanages.
The planned event in December hopefully will reach the heights of
heaven…!!
Ingrid & Annabelle join me to wish you all well and in our expressed

“Thanks” to everyone for the love, understanding and support you have
shown towards the MASH Secretariat’s decision, (given the recent
flooding of the Coastal Belt of Guyana), to postpone the Road March &
Costume Parade from February 23 2005 to May 26, 2005.
To all the donor countries, politicians, people from all walks of life,
volunteers, children, who have devoted endless hours, skills, finance,
and pulling together, to assist the flood victims and putting their
lives back to some sense of normalcy, I thank you.
We, Guyanese entertainers, have put together a Global Concert to aid the

“Thank You” to all my UK fans and friends for the wonderful reception,
love, and support I received during my recent trip to London.
Special “hugs” and love to Joyclyn Bowman-Turner for that Sunday
December 19th afternoon confabulation at the London-Wembley Holiday Inn
Express. Your universal and somber views on subjects that matter most
will always be a comfort zone for my days of indecision. Thank you,
‘Lyn’…!
To Isaac and Debbie Namabiri, owners of Angie’s African Cuisine
Restaurant on Harrow Road, Maida Vale, London, your gracious hospitality
speaks millions. I will not hesitate to recommend your mouth-watering
cuisine and Nigerian warmth. Debbie, I am eagerly looking forward to
performing at your 39th Anniversary Ball there in London. And I can’t
wait to savor once again your culinary delicacies and delights. And
Isaac, our confabulation on the upward economic, social, and political
mobility and direction(s) of especially the black immigrants in UK, as
compared to/with the Asian counterpart there, is unfinished as we have
much to ponder and discuss. I look forward to the imminent discourse
over the phone and in person. Lots of hugs to Angie…!
To Maurice Dezou from the Ivory Coast, I thank you for patiently
explaining the technical intricacies of video editing. A lot went over
my head. However, I want to assure you that I came away the wiser in
photography and videos.
And to Dinah Kissiedu and the models from Ghana, I am doing what I
promised you I will do. See? I did remember that very special Ghanaian
sentence you taught me: “Me pe wo as em…!”
And, yes, Dinah, Liz, Jessy, Linny, and Sempu, from the bottom of my
heart: “Me do wo…!”
And to Anzhelika Klypa (Miss Cyprus), Olga Selivanova (Miss Russia),
Dami Bia Sousa (Miss Brazil), and Josepaine Marume (Zimbabwe), this note
is to let you know how sincerely touched I was at your simplicity and
esprit-de-corps. As the only male sharing a common changing room before
we stepped out on stage, you did not for one moment display any signs of
discomfiture with/at my presence. For this, I thank you. I also want to
take this opportunity to let you know how much I appreciate your warmth
and charm.
I will be remiss if I do not let Mahlet Kebebe and her Ethiopian friends
know how much I appreciate your support and liveliness during my
performance. I also want to thank you all for explaining the “hamaree”
dance steps to me, and which you so interestingly executed at the OBE-TV
anniversary dance. I look forward to your mails.
And to Miss Guyana 2004, Suzette Marissa Shim … Wow…! You go girl….!
What a display of true Guyanese zeal and talent…! I was so pleasantly
pleased to witness you demonstrating a mixture of chutney wining and soca grinding that you put on at the dance. I was so proud of you,
Suzette, representing all Guyanese, as you “show-wine” that Nigerian
lady who was trying to teach Miss Russia (Olga Selivanova) and Miss
Brazil (Dami Bia) how to “wine”….!
Last but not least, a most hearty “thank you” to Lenny, the security
personnel at Lord’s Cricket Ground, for “sneaking” me in the pavilions
and showing me the various exclusive “boxes” too expensive for the likes
of our pockets. It was indeed a “rush” to sit where the rich and high
and mighty usually do.

especially Georgetown, will sustain my determination to keep on keeping

genuine support, during my stay will linger with me for quite some time.

my both privacy was intact and my stay comfortable and secured.
To Messrs Success and Larry, musical mentors to the West Riumveldt

appreciation and admiration for your kind cooperation and support, and
for allowing me to film the choir as they rendered “You’re Not Alone”. I
admire much the sense of timing and discipline you have instilled in the
youngsters.
To Andre Razah, Staff & children of Laser Edge Academy, Better Hope, ECD,
it was very touching for me to be allowed the opportunity to speak to
the children at your Sports’ Day. The response from the children was
memorable and fantastic…!
To Noel Harlequin and Junior Bailey of COMVITECH, Thomas Street,
Georgetown, thank you for devoting tireless hours ensuring that the
filming of “You’re Not Alone” was done right.
And to Derek Moore and his most able Eyeful Creative Agency and staff,
your designs and creativity have most surely enhanced the images of the
“Pirates”. To Ivelaw, Tony, Rhonda, and Melissa, my forever gratitude
for going beyond what was required of/from your talent. I greatly admire
your thespian display of professionalism and your impromptu choreography
during the filming of the musical video “Pirates”. Bravo…!
To all the artistes and entertainers who assisted with/in the “You’re

I would be remiss if I do not single out Allan Fenty, Desiree Edghill,
Michelle King, Compton Hodge, Margaret Vieira, Bonny Alves, Mighty

Mona Chung, Ras Isan, Basil Bradshaw, Mark Walcutt, Melissa Roberts, and
